Residential

Your home lift,
redesigned.

Your lift arrived with a factory-finish interior. It is probably the one surface in your home that has never been considered. Architectural vinyl wrapping changes that in a single day, matched to your interior, at a fraction of the cost of replacement, with no structural work required.

Why it works for residential

Designed to match your home

Commercial lifts get wrapped to meet a building's presentation standards. Residential lifts are different: your home has a design language, and the lift should feel like it belongs. We work from your interior references, the floor, joinery, paint colours, and find a finish that integrates rather than one that just looks acceptable.

One day. No structural work.

A home lift cab is completed in a single day. No panels removed and sent to a factory, no week-long closure, no builders or plasterers to coordinate. We arrive, prep, install, and leave. The lift is back in service the same afternoon.

A fraction of replacement cost

A full lift cab replacement runs to tens of thousands of dollars and involves engineering sign-off, extended downtime, and structural trades. A vinyl wrap delivers a comparable visual result for a fraction of that investment, with none of the complexity.

Completely reversible

The vinyl is applied over the existing surface. If you sell the property, renovate again, or simply change your mind, the wrap can be removed cleanly without damaging the substrate. Nothing is permanent.

The process

01

Send us photos and references

Photos of the lift interior plus any finish references you have, the flooring, joinery, paint colours, or a Pinterest board. We'll come back with finish recommendations and a fixed quote within 2 to 3 business days.

02

Review samples

We send physical samples of shortlisted finishes to your door or you visit our Balcatta showroom. Seeing the material in your light, against your surfaces, makes the decision straightforward.

03

Installation day

One or two installers, typically a full day. Surface prep, precise cutting, dry application. We clean up and walk you through the result before we leave. The lift is in use the same day.

What we wrap

Every surface in the cab

A complete residential lift wrap covers every visible surface: walls, doors, ceiling, and surrounds. The result is a coherent finish throughout, not a patched-together look.

  • Interior wall panels
  • Interior and exterior lift doors
  • Ceiling panels and returns
  • Door frames and reveals
  • Handrails and trim
  • Lobby surrounds and sill panels

Good to know

Residential lifts vary considerably in cab size, surface material, and door type. Some home lifts have exposed mechanism components or very small cabs that affect what's wrappable. We assess each installation at quote stage and give you a clear picture of what will and won't work before you commit.

We work primarily with 3M DI-NOC architectural vinyl for residential installations. It carries a 12-year indoor warranty, is engineered for the temperature and humidity variation of interior environments, and has the widest finish range available in any architectural vinyl product.

For residential installs, fire certification is typically not a planning or council requirement. If your home is subject to specific compliance conditions, let us know and we can confirm the appropriate product specification.

Common questions

What types of home lifts can be wrapped?

Most residential lift cab types: hydraulic lifts, pneumatic vacuum lifts with flat interior surfaces, and cable-driven cab-style lifts. The surfaces we wrap are interior wall panels, doors, ceiling panels, and surrounds. We assess each cab at quote stage and confirm what's achievable.

Will it look different to a commercial lift wrap?

The material and installation method is identical. The difference is in finish selection: for residential installs we focus on finishes that integrate with your home's design rather than the neutral, hardwearing looks common in commercial buildings. The result typically looks far more intentional than a commercial wrap.

Does it affect the lift's certification or warranty?

In most cases, no. Architectural vinyl is applied to the interior surfaces only and doesn't affect the mechanical, electrical, or structural components of the lift. If your lift is under a service contract, it's worth checking with your lift company, though we are not aware of any standard residential service contract that excludes interior surface wrapping.

How long does it last?

In a residential home environment, the 3M DI-NOC range carries a 12-year indoor warranty and realistically lasts well beyond that with normal use. Residential lifts see significantly less traffic than commercial cabs, so the material performs accordingly.

Can you match an existing finish or colour in the home?

Often yes. With 3,100 finishes across the range we can usually find a close or exact match to a timber species, stone, or colour. Bring us a sample or photo and we'll work through the options with you.
